At UVA they don't support Linux with their secured wireless network. They have a hidden open network that Linux devices can connect to. I have not had problems with my Linux desktop, laptop, and phone no the open network.
There is no IT Linux support.
I have had a little ridicule for using Linux but only from my windows using computer science classmates.
