Comment Ipad - forward or back? (Score 1) 1634

I have read some of the comments about the new iPad and there are valid concerns. Sure Apple limits what can be installed on the device. But after having to service hundreds of Windows based computers over my lifetime I thought this was probably a good idea. Not all developers take the same care to assure their code structure is solid. Apple at least sets some standards to the applications prior to allowing them to be in the Apps store. Now for the most part the developers out there are responsible but there are a few apps that leave something to be desired. What I think to be a good and solid advancement is the functionality of the device. I know a great number of seniors and this device opens out new mobility for them, not requiring the standard limiting inputs but to browse and contribute without typing or mousing. I think this device could completely eliminate the teacher as we know it. Also, seeing as governments and industry organization have put their foot down in my consumer products of late with respect to assuring they get their piece of the revenue, I doubt that will go away any time soon. (DRM) But then like a faithful friend of mine always says, "you get what you ask for, no fail." And the DRM is what the consumers asked for and got.

Using it as a 4 way stop would imply common sense which from what I have seen in terms of the green movement isn't so common. For example, electric cars are something you want to move to and yet battery life is significantly diminished in colder climates. Also, there is limitations to distance of transfer thus forcing more industry in areas and more people compressed into cities. More electric devices overloads grids forcing more demand to produce more unless you decide to live in a box or invest in costly and inefficient solar and wind energy. I always think back to a comment in the movie, Meet the Robinsons in this case. "This plan was not well thought out." I think the green movement is less interested in reduction and more interested in job creation. I think much of the data released to the public is cultured to insight uprising and thus encourage funding of those projects but have nothing to do with saving the planet. The green moment is so much like a religion where the God is the planet.

I have seen this with a few headhunters, and had calls form them about experiences i have never put on my resume. I am really not impressed by headhunters and there is talk that in Alberta they will soon be regulated because of the dishonesty with them. It is bad enough that employers now want all the non essential skills including the must haves to have the situation complicated by headhunters trumping up your resume so it looks glamourous so they can glean a fat commission.

A site that pads the reviews so they only show a positive response is much the same as the new media only presenting to the listener selective news. I believe it is still the responsibility of the consumer to do their exploration and investigation to prove what is true to them.

Comment How will it work? (Score 1) 586

Looks like a pretty good little car. But how would it work in a place say like Manitoba, Canada? If it survives there it will survey anywhere on the planet. I think Nissan should test it there and see if those batteries will withstand the temperature, snow and ice. A electric car has to function across the planet, well unless we are all to move to the equator to respect our carbon foot print.
