The "old" app you are talking about is, in fact, the "new" app referenced in the link I provided from 9 years ago. Please do try to keep up. The fact remains that Sonos has performed this same sort of "reinvention" multiple times over the previous decade, including removing long-standing features without warning. Each time, it's met with the same negative feedback from users. And each time, Sonos talks about "courage" or some other BS. Lather, rinse, repeat.

This is *exactly* correct. It's also how you deal with federal government purchases (at least from the USA). I would mod you up, but I'm not sure that's even a thing anymore.

It is a characteristic of iPhones and has been for a good long while now. It would seem that folks annoyed by this behavior are in the minority.

Do I use it? Technically yes. But not really. Probably 4, maybe 5 times a year. Usually to verify things like "yep, Gmail is really down right now."

Another perfect example of function over form was Digikey. Sadly, even they have started to modernize recently. Drives me crazy.
