I vote for readability over performance :) and I think if somehow FreeBS's ipfw managed to have good performance with similar rule-language then linux can do this also

Does svn already support "pager" , or adding "| less" after each command is required ? what about "git citool" ? "stash" ? "amend" ? "rebase" ? Personally I prefer native git or "git-svn" in case of svn reps

you could try a Mate - fork of Gnome 2 it supports all needed things I like in gnome2 - toolbars (panels) + applets, normal menus etc

people already used to setup 8.8.8.8 and opendns in resolv.conf so it's easy to run separate services and create separate dns table

English is simple enough to use by devs. but if you app will be used overseas by normal people, then multilingual gui required.
