A stock kernel on an MRI machine?
No, I don't want that level of DIY on any equipment that is critical to anything.
Almost nobody runs stock kernels. Stock kernels are used by distributions to build their own kernels.
That MRI machine is running on a 1.2 kernel. Maybe 2.0. It's separated from the hospital network by a firewall.
If the MRI machine is getting attacked then a LOT has gone wrong already.
_And_ other places will get hotter, as less heat is transported away by the AMOC. So those places may become uninhabitable by being so hot and humid that humans will just overheat and die from heat stroke.
You're an outlier. Top 0.1% vision. Or better.
I've got very good vision. Diopt 0.0 in both eyes. Due to my age I will be needing reading glasses within a couple of years but for now I can still read fine without them.
For me, the difference between HD and 4K is visible but small. I can't resolve individual pixels on 4K at any reasonable distance.
Since most people will have worse vision than us, 4K will be beyond their limit. 8K is only adding cost without adding quality.
It's better for you.
It's not better for a lot of businesses. The collaboration features of openoffice are sub-par. That alone excludes openoffice from most shortlists. Many businesses nowadays rely on Sharepoint. Only Google comes close to this.
Excel is by far the best in connecting to external database resources. By far the best in pivot tables. Both are extensively used for financial reporting.
Not saying Excel is perfect. But there simply is no serious competition.
Proprietary service drops support for proprietary protocol..
No, just only to federations such as Canada, Russia, Switserland, the USA, India, the UAE, etc.
It distorts the size difference between the continents. The Equal Earch map makes Europe and Russia much smaller, showing the true relative size of the African continent.
You have to register as a company before you are allowed to offer taxi services. It's illegal for individuals to provide taxi services. This is to protect customers from malicious taxi services which are unregulated, unsafe, extremely expensive, etc.
Nope. That's why I changed all my players to BlueOS.
I replaced all my SONOS connects with BlueSound node Nano devices. A pricey replacement, but worth it.
As a bonus I was now able to turn off SMB1 on my home Samba server !
> Every large NAS vendor (Synology, QNAP, etc) has their own SMB server they wrote themserlves
That's untrue. Both Synology and QNAP use Samba. QNAP contributes code and bugfixes back to samba.org (Hi Jones !).
The upstream Linux kernel doesn't differentiate between security bugs and "normal" bug fixes. So the new kernel.org CNA just assigns CVE's to all fixes. They don't score them.
Look at the numbers from the whitepaper:
"In March 2024 there were 270 new CVEs created for the stable Linux kernel. So far in April 2024 there are 342 new CVEs:"
