Why could we not have a setup that drops out connectivity and the students just have to type their essays and print. No internet, just printer connectivity. Should be easy enough to implement with vlans set up properly. I for one know I can type a lot more legibly and faster than I can handwrite. For example, if the class is taking a test from 9 to 10:30. no internet from 9 to 10:30 in that room.

The Chevy Blazer EV was just named SUV of the year. The timing seem suspicious. "Wednesday, MotorTrend named the all-electric Chevy Blazer its SUV of the year."

Esra Erimez writes: Microsoft has filed a complaint at a federal court in Washington accusing person(s) behind an AT&T subscription of activating various pirated copies of Windows 7 and Office 10. The account was identified by Microsoft's in-house cyberforensics team based on suspicious "activation patterns."

Despite being one of the most pirated software vendors in the world, Microsoft doesn’t have a long track record of cracking down on individual pirates. From the descriptions used in the complaint it seems likely that the target is not an average user, but someone who sells computers containing pirated software. Time will tell whether that’s indeed the case

These are all great recommendations, but the one that at least for me has made the most difference is that I keep a notepad at my desk and WRITE STUFF DOWN by hand. it forces you to organize your thoughts, and also the very act of writing it down and not typing it helps you to remember it. In my opinion, a notebook (paper) and a pencil are the best tools to fight inattentiveness.

Second GTA IV Patch Released, Early Look At DLC 41

IllusionMPN notes that a new patch has been issued for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. It primarily contains bug fixes and optimization changes, though it's created an issue with some input devices. We're also starting to get hands-on previews of the upcoming downloadable "episodic content," The Lost and the Damned. Trailers and an achievement list are available as well. The original game's Niko Bellic won't have much of a role in the new content.
