It's not like HTML5 solved countries having borders.

Steve Jobs really messed up when he chose to make this fight. He should have also used Apple's massive cash position to purchase H264 or the patents, or whatever it would have taken to solve the H264 issue by making it open source. With that one move it would have removed so much uncertainty and jump started the whole idea by several years. Now we have HTML5, but madness in the codec arena.

Adobe and Apple are in some sort of weird cold war. They stick it to each other in sly ways.

At mlb.com yesterday, there was almost nothing but complaints about poor service for both audio and video feeds. Funny I can't find any of the RSS feed articles from yesterday... all the negative posts have been removed from mlb.com but they all went more or less "what a waste of $109."

... but if NASA had Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Premium, this would be a non-issue.
