dkd903 writes: Mozilla wants to make it big in the Mobile world and has revealed it’s plans about an unique mobile app store in it’s annual report – “The State of Mozilla” which was released recently. Mozilla has already brought the desktop Firefox experience to mobile devices long back as the Fennec browser which was initially launched for the Maemo platform on Nokia N900.

Mozilla has designed a prototype of mobile app store and plans to call it a “Open Web App ecosystem”. The aim is to create an open app store platform that would consist of apps which can run on all Mobile device, in other words – A “Mobile Device Independent” App Store.

An anonymous reader writes: Societal norms and my sibling's procreative endeavors have put me in the position of having to buy gifts twice a year for young children. What makes them happy are unremarkable bits of plastic. They already have innumerable unremarkable bits of plastic (from their parents and grandparents). My preference would be to get them gifts that challenge them to think creatively (or at least to think), which they'll be able to pick up and enjoy even after they outgrow their train/truck/homemaking fetishes. Beyond the Rubick's Cube, what thinky toys from your childhood are still in production? What new thinky toys have you discovered that work for the 5 — 10 age range?

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't K.W. Jeter the officially authorized writer by P.K.D. and his daughter Isa, to continue the Blade Runner franchise? Since he's written several sequels, why doesn't this screenwriter collaborate with K.W. Jeter, and PKD's daughter, Isa, to come up with something consistent? Then again, that much forethought may have slipped past all of the enthusiasm and good intentions - doh!
