It's not as though it's an immediate thing. Now, I'm no biology major, but I can venture a guess that it takes quite a while for things to evolve. I realize I have no ground to say this other then "it's possible"; however, it is in fact possible that the beginning cycles of life are on Mars (or any planet for that matter).
