As a young person who pays much more than I receive in benefits, I only hope that when I'm old I will receive a little bit of what I'm contributing. The young should support the old and incapable. Hopefully some sort of program will catch me when I fall. Isn't that what a central authority is for?

Every day I interact with "tradespeople," beit fabricators, metal spinners, or HVAC specialists. I'm a software engineer by trade. The line between making things and taking credit for their success/failure can be a blessing or a curse for my kind. Let's hope that software engineering continues to be an in-demand skill, especially for those whose projects fail.

Not sure if it was clearly stated, but High Frequency Trading algorithms should take most of the blame. Computers ran by investment firms monitor social media and invest accordingly, so you don't have to actually watch the ticker with your finger on the button. Large funds you have (401k, IRA) are likely already doing this for you.
