I don't think that scenario is as unlikely as you seem to think. REDMOND -- Microsoft today annouced XDocs, a new portable document format to compete with Adobe Systems' PDF format. "We are very excited about XDocs," company president Steve Ballmer said. "With the total integration of XDocs into every office application and Microsoft utility, users on Windows, Pocket PC, and Macintosh systems will be able to seamlessly open, save, and print XML documents from any Microsoft application." Ballmer added, "We will also be integrating XDocs support into our free Internet Explorer browser, so everyone can view XML documents free of charge." A rash of diarreah apparently struck the entire Adobe offices immediately following the Microsoft announcement. Said one Adobe insider, "We're all pretty much shitting our pants in here."
