Journal Journal: well, fuck 1

Yup, as it turns out, if you want a girl to like you, you have to make some effort.

Well, fuck. I doubt I'll find anyone quite like you, but I guess I'm going to have to find someone that's good enough, if I want to get into a relationship...ever.

"hey, we should hang out sometime, perhaps even actually just hang out as opposed to me watching you hang out with your friends. maybe if we were sleeping together that would be fine, but we're not right now, and that's just not good enough."

Is it so fucking wrong that I don't want to just go to cro and end up with some chick for the night, but I do want to spend the night with someone?

Did I mention I hate the future?

-- Cornelius hates and feels like he's failing at life and maybe should drop out and give up.

So, I'm in Latin, but not working. oh well.

The con at my church was really quite good. there were like 100 people total, and then a punk band or two came. I didn't see the show because I was playing Trivial Pursuit, but the whole con was very good.

Other stuff has happened since the last posting, I'm sure. but I have limited time.

Journal Journal: We Don't give a fuck it's not your birthday...

My reality has become an endless string of web-journal reading, webcomic reading, IMing, NetHacking, and Vice Citying.

I should run, so I can play disc, so I can go to the banquet. Fuck me. Being better at disc isn't a priority until it means I can eat good food with good friends.

I'm a texan, apparently. I like playing with guns, I like liberties, I have a "y'all can deal" mentality, I like eating meat, etc etc etc...

Exam was fine. No Worries so far, more later.

Journal Journal: Not doing On The Road reading/paper...

In the time since I last updated, I changed my browser not once but twice. I was using Mozilla, then Chimera, and finally Safari. Safari is chill, though no tabs yet. I'm using the beta, after all. They're supposed to be in the final release, though. Ah, brushed metal skins....

Travis got Demon: The Fallen. He wants to start a game, and I'm already in it (yay!), and hopefully the other person will be cool, too. The intro stuff is pretty good. So good, in fact, that even Travis read it. That's saying a lot, by the way.

I need to freestyle more. It's becoming a lost art in my world, and fast.

I'm still in my comfy chair, it's still at a time where I'm unlicensed to drive (until 13 days, 4 months from now....)

Radio show was fun. Jameson was there since he didn't have a ride. He shook his head in disgust and dissapproval, which means I'm doing something right. Muahahahahahaha.....

Since I last wrote, I did run, once. I got 1.2 miles. Not promising.

8 days until I'm a second semester senior! Yay! and senioritis will finally be relatively ok, as opposed to like 5th grade, when it started for me. I never really started doing homework reliably, ever. Work at school, be home at home. It's kinda simple in my mind. I'm probably fucked when I get to college, but that's ok.

Journal Journal: Lord of the Insomniacs...

So, here I am, 5 AM again, just kinda sitting here, not doing much. Staying up all night again. I've been watching the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings DVD appendices. They're totally sweet.

I got the computer into my room, and it has a DVD player, so awesome-tawesome. Haven't used that one in a while. Far out, dude.

I'm making an angineer for Tim's GURPS Traveller (kind of) game. He was supposed to be an engineer/thug, but I decided taking all of the advantages and none of the disadvantages was as important.

I need to fucking run, a lot, often. Dammit. Stupid computer. Oh well. Shit happens. I should run, and then shower before school. I need to wake up my dad at 7:15. I've got like 2:20 until then. Hmmm.....

If you're going to read terry pratchett's "Johnny and the _____", read "Only You can Save Mankind" first. It has the same characters, and the Johnny + the ____ ones are sequels, though that's rarely pointed out. Why do I read young adult science fiction? because I'm trying to read EVERYTHING by Terry Pratchett.. What an awesome author.

I just got a new keyboard and mouse. Yay! Now to move the iMac into my room, finally. The keyboard has a warning right there on the front, about health hazards. Ah, Logitech.

Next step: get an *optical* wireless mouse, or maybe just a trackball. Who knows?

I had a meeting with people at my church about the upcoming con. I think I convinced lily, and therefore cadence, that going is a good idea. heh, corrupting the president of the 8th grade student council with YRUU stuff. Sweet.

hmm... I set up the ps2 to play Vice City from the treadmill, but I haven't done it yet.

I need to read On The Road (200ish pages), and pages 55-655 in Brothers Karamazov. So, I went to the library and picked up three new books by terry pratchett. and I have 2 more already. so, I'll probably read 4 of the within a few days, then the 5th is Good Omens, which is not Young Adult fiction, so takes any time at all to read.

I wish I could do homework. It would make life simpler.

Journal Journal: "I want to tell you..." - The Beatles

Ok, so the last week was pretty sweet.

I now have 40 hours logged on my saved game in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and that doesn't include times when it's paused for me to look at maps, guides, etc. This is since I got it on Cristmas. About 223 hours ago.

New Year's Eve was fun. Outi came over. We had a good time.

The day before school started, I decided to stay up all night. Then I went to school. Then I came home, and went to bed. Then I woke up at like midnight, and couldn't get back to sleep. So, by the time I actually got to a class, I had been up for 9 hours. It wasn't the best thing ever, but oh well. I didn't have class until 12 on thursday, but didn't know about it until during the day. Dammit.

Hmmm...(cursor sits and blinks after the last period for a few seconds, like in the movies)

I saw Star Trek: Nemesis. It was...ok. The Argo was cool, Wil ("He's so dreamy" - Amanda) Wheaton was on screen for like 5-10 seconds, Data...poor Data...dammit. (Star Trek 11: The Search for Data?) The villain was...villainous, and evoked o' skoo' sci-fi villains - the kind bent on destroying everything, for no good reason. The kind that invite the hero to dinner. Damn, I probably would have appreciated the movie more if I had realized that was what was going down. Ok, so it may have been a little better than "ok." The ramming scene was sweet. Picard looks a lot better as an old man than as a teenager.

Life is Good, even if I am sleep deprived...

Christmas Cheer

Journal Journal: 9 days later...

Ok, so I haven't updated. At all. All vacation.

I'm not sorry.

Anyhow, I got some phat |00+z fo' Christmakwanzadanukkatetice. I got Vice City, I got the Deep South Trip, I got 2 anime DVDs: Akira and Ghost in the Shell. I got my first Solstice card from my own family, which was a little weird. I had eggnog with alcohol in it.

I really like my grandmother. She's the only person I know with the guts to give people money as a present, and everyone really likes and remembers her present, but no one wants to give money. Why? Because people are crackheads.

In Vice City, I am at the point where I need to Shakedown the mall. That game is so fun. I mean, really. Bored with your mission? Knock over the corner store. Buzz the city in a helicopter. Compete in the Hyman Memorial Stadium games. Or just chill out and drive a taxi for a few days. Steal a cop car, or a tank, or whatever. Chop people to pieces in the street with a chainsaw. Cruise on a motorcycle or in a stolen exotic convertable sports car. What a great game. And I'm not even that far into it, I don't think.

Christmas eve and day, I got together with aunt(s)/uncle(s)/cousin(s) and my great-aunt, who spent christmas eve night in my bed while I slept downstairs. I gave my cousin the andrew W.K. cd...sucka.

Akira was crazy-trippy. As my dad put it, "I guess lsd DID make it to Japan."

I put the iMac downstairs and I'm going to put it in my room soon. bwahahahahaha....

"got so much Ice you could skate on it..." - Identify the quote and win a prize!*

I met Outi's older sister, who has spent the last few months in spain, and is a junior at college in CA. She's pretty cool, and thought that linux sounded interesting. Maarit, Outi, and I saw Die Another Day, which I had already seen. But it was worth it.

Outi came over yesterday. That was good.

Who can I sucker into driving me into Boston with them tomorrow? Any UUs (or non-UUs, whatever) out there going to the meet-up?

Jo got me a DVD, and I didn't get her anything. I felt like an asshole, but she said she didn't want anything, and I asked her if she was sure, and she said yes, so I'm no longer worrying about it.

Hi Mom and Dad! If you're reading this, feel free to reply - click the "Comment" link. That goes for everyone else, too, but whatever.

I saw Catch Me if You Can.

I saw Snatch. I walked in an abandoned place for a half hour with Travis and Liz. It was a good time. There were a lot of people at Casey's that night. Good times.

Ok, I think I covered most of it.

Journal Journal: It's Time to Party....

Today is the last day of school before break!

I didn't exactly write the 2 papers I stayed up to right, but then, I never do. Oh well, I'll leave latin, and use my free block 3 for them.

Two Towers the second time was at least as good as the first time.

I need to talk to (and get together with) Outi more often.

And it's time to go to the bus for the 5th or so time this year.

Movies

Journal Journal: Dude! Sweet!

I just saw The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. It was totally sweet.

I'm seeing again it in 15.5 hours.

I went to the Woburn Showcase Cinemas, where I saw Shrek with Annie a bit more than a year ago, right after a dance, and before a con. This movie was better, and the company I saw it in amounted to about the same, in terms of affecting the movie experience. No, this was better. Oh well.

Sleep? What's that?

Journal Journal: Last week

I haven't been writing in my journal because of a few reasons, maybe. They're all lame, I'm sure, though. oh well.

I haven't heard from Connecticut College.

I did go to Steve R's wake, but since my dad needed the car, I never saw his corpse. i was there for 20 minutes, and moved 10 feet in line.

Radio Show was lazy.

Dance Troupe show was amusing, and for the first time, I actually went out with people after an LS event. Damn, I wish I had friends. Since it's a saturday night, and I (literally) haven't left the house all day.

Aside from wishing I had friends, I'm missing Outi, since she's all the way in cambridge, and I can't see her. Dammit.

Damn. I wish I had done something at all today.

I wish I would turn 18 before the second to last day of classes for seniors.

I wish a lot of crazy bullshit, but I'm not a beautiful, unique snowflake because of it, so whatever. It's the same shit everybody else wishes for.
