Way back in the mid-WindowsXP days, summer of 2004 to be exact, my co-business partner at that time, purchased new h//w and a full set install disks for XP and Office. I didn't have time at that juncture to set up my new computer but listened to an almost never ending litany of problems G was having with the install/update process. When I came to set up my own PC, I somewhat randomly selected a "cover disk" of Linux and never looked back. That was Fedora which was followed by a box set of SuSE. The came Ubuntu 5.06 which was displaced by Mint until I purchased a Chromebook Christmas 2012 with the thought that if I didn't like it I could always install Linux. Now all my ChromeOS devices either have Linux access via crouton or a VM. 20 years free from MS and counting. Full disclosure: I started in Unix mid 80's and always had access to some server somewhere running some Unix/HPUX/SunOS/Solaris.... so the Linux learning curve was not as steep or as long as a n00b today. My advice: take the ring out of your nose and take control of your own compute environment.

Be careful what you wish for. Microsoft had it own version of Unix at one time (1980 to 1987ish). It was one of the largest distributions of Unix at it peak but it wasn't windows and MS dropped support.

G-drive needs a new feature to allow the end-user to story files in encrypted directories. The encryption key must be controlled by the end-user. G-Docs/sheets... stored in such a location should be auto-encrypted on upload/store and decrypted on download/retrive. YMMV
