Journal Journal: Group files text-blocking complaint with FCC

In this article http://news.yahoo.com/s/infoworld/20071211/tc_infoworld/93972/, some consumer groups and public interest groups complain to the FCC that mobile carriers selectively block out text messages that range from political campaigns to alternative product offerings from the mobile carrier's competitors. I understand that we should uphold free speech, but to allow these groups to send unsolicited text messages to my cellphone, I think that is too much. I am not paying my text messaging plan to allow these spammers to send junk to my phone! To the mobile carriers, I hope that you guys keep your filtering tight and don't let any of these messages get to my cell. My text messaging plan is good for personal use only.
