Why don't you just remove the it domain name from the url:
eg. the following:
http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/01/06/152 1206&tid=172&tid=109/
becomes:
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/01/06/152120 6&tid=172&tid=109/
rock.
eg. the following:
http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/01/06/15
becomes:
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/01/06/15212
rock.
