I guess I was misinformed? I figured contrails would reflect back some of the suns light and would cause things to (at least mathematically) cool down. Since it isn't a green house gas I thought it wouldn't trap heat. Which is what I thought the definition of a green house gas is. I'm going to have to do some more reading.
