Yeah.... not interested. I watch TV to get away from technology (I/T guy here). I have a phone, tablet and laptops for using AI. I damn sure don't need nor want it in my TV nor do I need a Samsung account (Galaxy S24+ and Tab7+ and I only have a Samsung account out of curiosity; it's never been useful for me). Besides, I can get as good of a Vizio TV for half the price of a Samsung TV.

I had to dust off my old logon that I hadn't used in years just to respond to this. He was not responsible for it all. He was at Halliburton from 1995-2000. Halliburton bought a company that had a subsidiary that was involved with asbestos. If you're going to s*** post, at least look up the facts first.

Ok, so let's give them that one. However, what they didn't define is what KIND of jobs are created for American citizens? Barista's at StarBucks? Burger flippers at McD's? Housekeeping at Marriott? Waiting tables at ______? I DID NOT list those jobs because I think I'm better than people who hold such a job NOR do I think any less of people in such jobs. My point is, I expect that these "created" jobs are no more than minimum (or barely more than minimum) wage paying jobs. They are jobs, not careers like what the H-1B Visa workers have.

I've actually had a purchased VOD title removed from me. I contacted Amazon to investigate and was told the the movie studio decided to pull the license from Amazon and go else where (probably an exclusive). I understand their desire for that type of licensing deal, however I had already purchased it and should still be able to watch my legally purchased license. What they should have done was after a certain date, you can no longer purchase it from Amazon but can still view your purchase. I complained about the "theft" of my video and Amazon was more than happy to refund my money. I don't know if it's a limitation of their system or fine print in the licensing but the government should step in and stop this practice. That is why I've started bookmarking ALL of my VOD purchases just so I can keep track of them and know where it was purchased (Amazon, Vudu/Ultraviolet, Google Play, Target, etc.).

Maybe Google should have licensed the use of Android with an agreement that parties will not sue each other or Google over (questionable?) infringements. I'd guess that they're all sueing because if you add up all their market share together, you'd probably have 10% of the market. Sore losers. Just another reason why I'll never own a Microsoft, Apple, Sony or RIM phone.

Submission + - Microsoft blocks Windows pirates from getting free (computerworld.com)

CWmike writes: "Microsoft will block users running counterfeit copies of Windows from installing the free Security Essentials antivirus software, said Alex Kochis, director of Microsoft's Genuine Windows team, in a post to a company blog. On-again, off-again debates about the wisdom of blocking security-oriented downloads like patches or defensive software have centered around the argument that Microsoft should protect all users, including pirates, since hijacked PCs threaten the entire Windows ecosystem. In this case, though, one analyst isn't buying that line. "I can't see any justification for making Microsoft give away Security Essentials [to counterfeit Windows users]," said John Pescatore, Gartner's primary security analyst. "Those people have many other choices, including free. There are plenty of alternatives to Security Essentials," he said, adding that that makes a difference. Windows patches, on the other hand, aren't available from anyone but Microsoft."
