I'm sorry. Where do we have a right to copy others' work? Although I download a lot of stuff, I don't try to delude myself into thinking what I'm doing is acceptable. If I had spent 2-3 years creating a novel, I certainly don't want somebody taking my labor without pay... it can go into the public domain after I'm dead, but not before.
What makes you think you have a right for your work NOT to be copied? You don't own the ethos.. how can you claim rights to a certain sequence of letters and numbers. I own my harddrive, I paid for the copper wire that comes to my house, and the electricity that created the bits. Seems to me, once I download you're book, I own it. You're not claiming ownership to my computer are you? Just because you work at something doesn't entitle you to payment.
