Powells just dicked over nearly their entire workforce with no notice after lying to them. I know a couple people with 20 years tenure there who got dropped. I don't think I have a dog in a fight between Amazon and Powells unless Powells ends up under pro-worker management, or better yet a worker's co-op. It always should have been a co-op.

Yep, I 100% support any effort to open-source COVID research to the world. We should publicly fund research and open source it all to the world. Putting profit above hundreds of millions of lives is what should be a crime. Capitalism in 500 years has done more to kill the species and the planet than our quarter millions years existence as an aggressively social species before that. People worried about private profit here can eat an entire unseasoned ass

This really says alot about how bankrupt American humanity is. COVID-19 is a global pandemic, and hell with the profit of big pharma firms trying to profit from it. Publicly fund research, open source it to the world. I 100% support anybody liberating data about COVID. Viruses don't care about imaginary lines on maps. Humanity didn't survive a quarter million years by doing bullshit like this.

I'm gonna guess they don't like drones as potential sites of resistance: recording what the police state does, busting corporations for massive environmental and human rights violations, or maybe even flying IEDs. As if anyone doing those things wouldn't simply remove or disable the transponder post-purchase. It's at least more security theater. A rising police state needs "citizens" to know they're never anonymous, never have privacy, and should always fear the state.

I mean, if you work at a coffee shop you can expect some customers to BE distracted. They haven't had their coffee yet or they wouldn't be there, they might have phone calls and emails flying at them, and they're just trying to make it through their day too. Everyone should treat baristas and literally any other person they're dealing with with respect, but like c'mon we're not BFFs, we're just tryna get coffee and handle our shit. This sounds boomer-y af to technology shame. Jesus.
