Comment HULU != Live (Score 1) 175

In TFA, The cable co's position is flawed. Offering streaming content online days or weeks after they are broadcast over cable is not exactly the same thing. They should just stream their content online to those that wish to use that as an alternate or additional method to receive their basic and premium content. Offer a Live internet cable broadcast stream. Like Hulu, but live, and a whole selection of channels basic and premium, "broadcast live online", and archived content also available.

Submission + - ICANN responds to gTLD plan comments (idg.com.au)

angry tapir writes: "ICANN has delayed its plans to sell new generic top-level domains in an effort to respond to public comments about the controversial proposal. The organisation has released a 154-page document (PDF) detailing and analysing the hundreds of comments it has received about its generic top-level domain (gTLD) plan. In response to several concerns brought up by the public and companies in the Internet industry, ICANN's projected timeline for taking applications for new gTLDs has slipped from September to December."

Comment Mainstreaming of security rule breaking ? (Score 1) 272

Maybe a local app that stores all passwords and automatically logs you in would be a better solution, as long as your local security is good. Something like the firefox password bank, but more capabilities like working with apps, etc. If someone learns your OPENID then they have you hacked on every site. This would be very insecure, and I believe that having the same login for multiple sites was a no-no anyway. This kind of mainstreaming of breaking a security rule should not catch on, it is flawed and insecure by nature.
