When the government released fund very quickly (pandemic free "loans" to businesses under the last administration) those vying for the funds tended to lie cheat and mega-plunder the system - including the government officials that pushed for fast easy money for "the people". So slow is not necessarily bad. Also, keep in mind that while the oil companies are continuing to earn record profits at the pumps and are still receiving generous government subsidies, those corporations have zero interest in allowing electric vehicles to become the primary mode of transportation in the USA. Their lobbyists are no doubt spending a lot of time and money making sure that law makers keep making it difficult to access the funds.

Talen is talent - a corporation pays a salary to someone that gets a job done regardless of where they choose to live, clothes they choose to wear, or mode of transportation they choose. After years of remote enterprise IT work for one of the largest corporations that does not pay taxes in the USA, I can attest that remote IT workers not only put in more hours on the job than the office folks in the cube farms, we were also more effective at dealing with emergency situations due to fewer distractions and more time on screen (we did not have extended lunches, coffee breaks, office birthday parties, or endless unproductive meetings). My compensation and yearly raises were based on the quality of my work for the corporation, not how many miles I put in to commute... as it should be - regardless of your anecdotal story of one employee.

As a result, when it comes to charity or social programs, religion may put their name on what service is being offered, but taxpayer money is paying the bill .... Obama renamed the giveaway to "community and faith-based initiative", but a skunk by any other name is still a skunk. There is an industry around filing grant requests, and little to no auditing of the funds. If a grant is under $300,000.00 then self audit is all that is required (religious organizations would not lie in an audit any more than they would not contrive to cover up one of their leaders engaging in child rape).... And it is difficult to get any clear information on how much taxpayer money is distributed yearly under the initiative - or to find out who is getting it and for what purpose.
