Smoked and drank every day. Same as my granddad, died the same year at the same age. Only difference is he fought in the european theatre, whereas mine fought in the pacific.

With the disrespect some are giving to former President Reagan's service in the Army making training films it unfortunately seems necessary to say this.
My grandfather re-enlisted in the Navy the day after Pearl Harbor. He spent most of the war patroling the Pacific Coast, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and Puget Sound.
