Journal btlzu2's Journal: Ugh, I'm really really dumb. 8

I have spent a whole day off trying to get a homework assignment done and I STILL haven't gotten it. I just wish I was freakin' smarter. I have to work my ass off at everything.

I have a bad feeling about this Artificial Intelligence class. *gulp* 8-|

Ugh, I'm really really dumb.

  • Feel free to ask specifics. I can personally attest that at least one person here has a strong background in AI. Okay, so my focus is on planning with an interest in Multiagent Systems, but I have background in Machine Learning, Vision, Natural Language and that stuff too.

Assuming it isn't too specific or obscure I'm sure some pointers towards the right direction can be made.

  • You're not alone; I feel the same way in pretty much all of my classes. Try to do a little bit each day, or ask someone for a fresh prespective - often I tend to get tunnel vision after doing a problem for a few hours.

Of course, being an AI class, the correct answer is probably not to play. ;-)

  • That is all anyone needs. You are not alone.

Now, if you can write an AI program that will pass the class for you...

  • if you were Naturally 10% more Intelligent it wouldn't help your in your Artificial Intelligence class.

    Oh I kill me.
  • I specialized in AI in school. I can helpya out if its stuff like neural networks and such. If its using something like 'prolog', though, you're on your own ;-)
    • Nah, if it's prolog or lisp then I'd be able to help. Granted I'm writing in languages like Java or C++ much more often than those, but I still have a handle on them and references for them on my shelf.

Prolog rocks, nothing like programming by telling the computer relations and constraints and then querying it.

And more people should write in lisp. I miss spontaneously generating and passing functions around in the languages I've been writing in. So many things that'd be so much easier to do.
