btlzu2's Journal: My Apologies re: Star Wars

Ok, I've been very negative about Star Wars because I watched it 10 years ago or so, probably in some piss-poor mood, and all I saw was Luke's whining and cheesy lines like "Han, Old Buddy"--when he only knew Han for a year or something.

I watched Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back with my dad over last weekend when I was sick and I was able to re-capture some of that [Vinnie]uteful[/Vinnie] awe of the movies.

George, Sam, Blinder. I'm sorry. They are fun movies. Yes, the Ewoks are going to PISS ME OFF in RotJ, but I remember what I used to see in these movies now and they're great fun. I wish Lucas hadn't added in all those fat dinosaur thingies or had Greedo shoot first, but them's the breaks.

Luke is STILL a whiney pussy though.

I guess you don't remember our Great Academy Award Night Debate Regarding LotR Blowing Away Star Wars. :) In that debate I proferred that Star Wars sucks. Well, I think I & II are pretty close to suckage, but not IV, V, VI.

I still think the whole LotR trilogy was masterfully done!

To be fair, if you were supposed to grow up with Natalie Portman on a beautiful planet, and instead you ended up in BFE on Tatooine, you'd probably be whiny too. I mean, really, look how whiny you are now, and you've never even been to fucking Tatooine, and you never had a chance at Natalie anyway. So cut the whiny little pussy some slack.
