  • I guess that would be option the laste. We're somewhat secluded and, since it was blustery, rainy day yesterday, we didn't have anyone stop by. Course we didn't have any eggs or TP thrown our way, so its all good;-) If only I could have done option OUCH) and brought this post full circle.

hah! clevah, clevah son! may i give you a geeky: "nyuk nyuk"??? :)
    • None (sigh).

So I'm munching the vanilla softee-toffees all by myself (well, actually, I shared some with the dogs)...

However, I am going to trick or treat all the half price candy at Target today.
  • Oh man, it was like, every 5 minutes, Whoosh, another candy bar was taken from the big blue bowl!

Although my wife wondered how our garbage can was completely filled in the span of one day. With nothing but wrappers.
  • One cute little Spanish girl, maybe five or six years old. Wearing a Disney(tm) Sleeping Beauty costume. I gave her three packs of M&Ms, she said "Thank you" so nicely, that I gave her two more, plus a couple of Nestle Crunch bars, and a Baby Ruth to boot. I thought maybe she'd tell her friends, and I'd see a few more.

    Didn't work.

    • but only cause we forgot it was trick or treat night. We usually keep our porch light on cause it's a bitch to get the key in the lock otherwise. Someone knocked on the door just after I got home from a hockey game.** My roommates asked if I was expecting company, so I answered the door, still in my windpants and legpads with a wifebeater shirt on to 2 kids, roughly aged 3 and 6 in a pumpkin and witch costume. Thing is, we don't have any candy. We had an open bag of cookies on the counter, a family siz
  • 18 trick-or-treaters. There were five costumeless teenagers (unless "teenage asshole" is a costume) I sent on their way empty handed. I was tempted to do the same to the last group of borderline too-olds who were using a car to get around (that annoys), but they had one little girl with them whom I could not disappoint.

We're in a middle-ring D.C. suburb (just outside the beltway), and the weather was perfect.

    • See, I'm fine with older kids/adults. But you have to dress up. No costume, no candy. I'll give candy to anybody who dresses up, be they 3 or 30.

(For the record, I went trick-or-treating until I was 15. Nobody ever gave me any trouble about it.)
    • I was a trick-or-treater...I hope you don't consider me an asshole for that. v_v I did dress up, though...I was a traffic cone. Nobody complained about my being older - either because they were distracted by the costume, or because I look very young for a 17 year old.
  • I have only ever had one trick-or-treater. I have always lived in condos or apartments, and I suppose that is why.
  • I came from a place that typically has, oh, several hundred trick-or-treaters. Basically an insane number.
So, seeing tons more kids everyday here than I typically see there, and considering the amount of kids within driving distance, I thought I would get the motherload of costumed children. So I went out and bought a TUB of candy. (It's actually in a big, plastic tub.)

About 30 kids showed up. :-/

They told me that, because people nearby turn out the lights and don't participate, it is rare for kids to
  • We had a grand total of zero! And that's the way I like it. Now get off my damn lawn! Just kidding. I've never lived in an area populated enough to have tons of drooling kids running around. Basically, the people that live out where I do all go into the city to obtain their sugary goodness.
