The point of this new digital USD is full control by a central authority. This new China CBDC adds new features to the currency, like an expiration date, and at the same time, all the data is available in real time to the central authority.

You are missing the point with the word "cryptocurrency". Cryptocurrency is the generalization of a single event, this is by definition an absurd terminology equivalent to mix Astrology with Astrophysics. Anyway the people using the word "Cryptocurrency" are following and trusting a leader in a centralized cult way. They mostly got rekt with this last price change.

No, you can't. The only innovation is the decentralization.

The decentralization is not software related. The decentralization is a consequence of incentives. If you fail the decentralization, the project is pointless.

Altcoins have leaders, premine, paid shills, perpetual software updates... everything leads to more centralization. In other words, Altcoins are not designed to be decentralized.

You can't replicate the decentralization:
Bitcoin matters not because it's fast, cheap, or easy; but only because nobody controls it. It grew spontaneously in the wilds of the internet without a central planner. After it, no alt could ever recreate this, as there's no spontaneous market demand for a less secure Bitcoin.
