Yes, fibre is significantly lower maintenance on the cable plant, lower calls to the call centre, reduced truck rolls, etc. But I think more, if not most, of the network engineers part is contracted workers to do the fibre network rollout.

How is this even a new feature in 2022? It should have been supported a decade ago for a variety of scenarios that have nothing to do with the topic in the article, but it would overlap with that topic as well.

Playing new software is fine and dandy, but the reality is that most people running modern applications that are GPU intensive are not going to be using Intel hardware. People that care are going to pony up for hardware from Nvidia or AMD. It's like you completely missed the whole point of why Intel is making Arc GPUs.
