It's not the broken window parable -- exactly. It's the broken window parable IN REVERSE. Don't you see? If companies SAVE millions of dollars by using open source software... Then, they will HAVE millions of dollars to spend on other things... This means that, although the proprietary software venders will lose.... The providers of those "Other" things that the money will be spent on... will WIN! The net result is that the companies who choose to use Open Source software SAVE more money than the proprietary software companies LOSE...
