Man, what was I watching the other day. I forget. It was a movie- but right in the middle of a sentence WHAMMO here's an ad for some thing or other. Talk about compromising the end user experience. And do not get me started on the fact I pay for YouTube TV and yet NBC wanted me to pay MORE to watch Chiefs/Dolphins. Not a chance.

Google Music was the best. Clean, easy to structure playlists, the best. Then they killed 'transferred' all my music to YTM. Disaster. Looked like it had been done by a two year old chimp. You -still- can't delete and start over, unless you do it song by song. And I don't WANT music and videos lumped together, you dopes! So I got a MacBook Pro and I'm all in with seamless, sleek Apple music. I will say, though--YouTube TV is terrific.

That's been true for 20+ years.

I used "web washer" back then and one day had to use someone else's browser for something. I had no idea how bad it was even then. All these pop ups and other things flashing at me. My content buried deep under crap. I freaked out and never ran a browser without a blocker again.

If I can't use a site without a blocker, I just don't. I find the content elsewhere or do without. Sometimes the reader mode in safari works via anti-ad-block sites.

Fuck those guys who do anti-ad-blocking.

have you ever tried Daily Mail w/o a blocker? Amazing the amount of junk that zooms at you. Appalling.

There is no cloud. There is only somebody else's computer. When you put your data on somebody else's computer, it is no longer your data it is their data. How much clearer can this be?

There was a time when I might have felt sorry for people who lost half a year's work "because cloud fart", but that time has passed. They deserve what they get. I'll reserve my limited supply of sympathy for people who deserve it.

I have everything on a Time Machine Seagate. Also on iCloud. Also on Drive + GPhotos. Redundancy has its advantages.

All I know is, I love the FF UI, and it's faster than sh*t on my MBP. If there wasn't a problem with Facebook, and there is: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/s... I'd ditch Safari in a minute and use FF as my daily driver. And FF Focus is excellent on iPhone. I don't know why I even have Chrome on my machine, TBH.

This is 100 per cent on the mark! Here's the thing: they don't know what that means. (Their slightly more technically inclined friends handling the setup think that means install Chrome, so that's what they do.) Some of them even think that they can't use Google, Gmail, or Facebook if they signed up using their Gmail account if they use Edge or "FoxFire" (which is what they inexplicably call Firefox).
