Comment MS Campus Aggreement (Score 1) 201

While working at a university of about 10000 students in Georgia, we were wooed by MS ability to offer us a "Campus Agreemement" which greatly simplified support and our ability to maintain compatibility within offices. It basically allowed any faculty/administrative/staff member for home or office use to own any of the major Microsoft products for the cost of the CD. This included OS's (95, 98se, 2000...XP wasn't available yet), Office 97, 98, 2000 (again, XP wasn't available yet), Visual Studio 6 and a few applications (like Frontpage). It made it very easy for us to make sure there was a MS product on EVERY computer on campus and at home. Also, as I understand it, when XP was released, because of the Campus Agreement, their versions of XP did NOT need to be "activated".
