As an American I found that weird as well. I might say "change up" in local dialog but would never write it out. I would also say "slow down" and "speed up" but would be 50/50 on writing it out.

If you push the "extra ice" button on the soft drink vending machine, you won't get any ice. If you push the "no ice" button, you'll get ice, but no cup.
