Would be great if you could transfer this bacteria to plankton! That way we could get rid of a lot of the polystyrene in the oceans. Might be possible to do that with other plastic types also?

My first computer was a swedish ABC80 computer a company called METRIC build. My father was a schoolteacher and was one of the first to teach programming in public schools in Denmark. In 1979 he brought the ABC80 home to me and i was hooked. I learned basic and began programming my first small games on it. The computer was built upon the Z80 processor as the zx81 and many other computers from that time.

I think this is a total waste of energy. Other algorithms/crypto has been invented that Are far more climate friendly. This energy could have been used to replace fossil fuels in cars and heating/Cooling/manufacturing. Instead it is being used shortsighted to create wealth for a small number of people.

I've had the same experience with canon.. I have sent them an email and got a polite reply that they would send my comments to the appropriate person. After that i didn't hear a word from them..

Well we are not doomed afterall.. There is still work in progress going on and I actually got my scanner (canoscan 656u) to work (not with the nice sane interface), so I could use it under linux.
