I've been using the CCRMA software quite a bit lately. I am not setting up audio workstations, but their apt-get cache let's me install an ACPI kernel and ALSA on a box in about 5 minutes. I've been setting up a bunch of laptops with Redhat 8 lately, and they have all required ACPI kernels and Alsa to work correctly (Sony Vaio's). Great timesaver for those that don't look forward to spending hours looking up info, downloading and installing patches and compiling your own kernel.
