Titan May Have an Ocean 109

olsmeister writes "Titan has been a particular focus of attention because of its dense, complex atmosphere, its weather and its lakes and oceans. Now it looks as if Titan is even stranger still. The evidence comes from careful observations of Titan's orbit and rotation. This indicates that Titan has an orbit similar to our Moon's; it always presents the same face toward Saturn and its axis of rotation tilts by about 0.3 degrees. This data allows astronomers to work out Titan's moment of inertia and points to something interesting. The numbers indicate that Titan's moment of inertia can only be explained if it is a solid body that is denser near the surface than it is at its center."

I signed up for Hulu+ for a week and canceled due to the fact that 90% of my queue wasn't available to stream via my PS3. Not that it's at all difficult to plug a HDMI cable between my laptop and TV, but if I'm going to be forced to do it that way anyway, might as well just let Pirate Bay provide my commercial free viewing experience. I still have Netflix which is what I use for most of my viewing, but I refuse to pay to have artificial restrictions placed on how I can watch what I'm paying for.

As much as Sony is really starting to piss me off, I still do 90% of my gaming on the PS3. Reason, I refuse to give Microsoft money for Live, and the fact that I'm now on my 5th 360 due to their crappy hardware. Between blu-ray, netflix and gaming on the PS3 it easily sees the most use at my house. I swear Sony is doing everything in their power to make me jump ship though.

Their flying images demo just kept on rolling when I tried it with firefox 3.6 on my slackware linux box. I jacked the number of images up as high as it would go and it was still doing something like 50fps. So looks like firefox got their first.

I'm getting about 20-30fps in firefox 3.6 on a su2300 netbook. IE 8 gets about 1fps.

The Grown-Up Video Game 152

Phaethon360 writes "Now, more than ever, we're seeing many Mature ratings (M+, 17+, 18) being distributed by various national media regulators. But that isn't the only indicator for a game's intended audience. It doesn't take a thousand swear words, scantily clad women or gratuitous violence to differentiate a ten-year-old's game from a twenty-year-old's. The spectrum of human emotions encompasses a wider palette than just revenge, fear, and loss, but the games that shy away from these are frequently mistaken as being for a younger audience. From the article: 'The human experience is one that is made up of great hardship, pain, loss, death, and a multitude of experiences seemingly designed to destroy a person. However, that same experience is also filled with joy, love, laughter, family and friends. ... These so-called “grown-up” games need not be relegated to the category of niche gaming. In fact, at times we find that these video games are capable of reaching mass popularity among the gaming community. It is here that we find one of our generation’s outlets for the expression of conflict.'"

It's been a few years since I used T-Mobile. Had cell/text package. Called them up told them I didn't want text anymore and to shut it off. So what do they do, they start charging me for every text message sent TO me. Called them up again and asked why I was being charged for wrong # text messages that kept getting sent to me and they said they couldn't turn off the text messages and that I'd have to keep paying for them. I wonder how much they'll be gouging for these movies. I notice the price of normal Blu-ray disks still hasn't come down.

They have. I've been seeing a lot of blu-ray/DVD/Digital copy sets being sold for $20.00. Just got the new Harry Potter and Pixar's UP like that. If they keep offering deals like this or even just the Blu Ray for $20 I might cancel my Netflix and start buying movies again.

I wonder if this is one way the RIAA/MPAA are trying to force their copyright laws onto Canada? Not allowing online streaming services like this until they adopt the US DMCA type law.
Isn't Canada on the US list of countries that doesn't have good enough copyright laws? It works both ways though. Defying Gravity is not airing in the US but is in Canada. I can't access any of the Canadian sites that are streaming the remaining episodes from the US.
