Comment AI is great for specific things... (Score 0) 76

I've used AI to design small apps, review code, port code, etc. and it's usually great. You have to be extremely specific though. It will use old libraries and even mix code from multiple libraries under certain situations that I've seen. But, I've been on countless calls with execs in various meetings where they've read an article about AI and think we can just use AI to replace massive third party applications. "Can't we just replace our benefits system using AI?" No Bob, we can't. Keep in mind this is retirement pension management, Health and Welfare Plans, Medical Reimbursement Accounts, Eligibility Processing, COBRA Administration, HIPAA Administration, Defined Benefit Pension Plans, Defined Contribution Pension Plans, Supplemental Unemployment Plans, Vacation Plans, Loan Programs, Government Filings, VEBA Administration. There are thousands of rules, regulations and laws to be followed and many third party systems to integrate with. Never mind the fact that the third party system isn't going to give you all of your data in the first place. Execs think they can just whip up a 2 paragraph prompt and call it a day. No one even knows all of the business rules, laws & regulations or how to handle the special cases that arise when conflicts between them arise. Only Karen down in the Louisville office or Betty up in New York knows that and they are both retiring in a month. Lol.

Comment Dumped Grok over this (Score -1) 72

Grok was constantly say it was doing something that it had ZERO ability to, and I kept calling it out and it kept apologizing and then immediately doing it again.

As a guy who spend 5 figures a year on Ai, the last thing I want is that. I know Claude and ChatGPT also do it, but Grok was doing it CONSTANTLY.

Regulators should be afraid of weaponized Ai. So should censors. So should monopolists.

All of the things the State has done in the past 500 years has been corrupt and bureaucratic and caused harm. All. Not most, but all.

All of the people who supported it, from monopolists to lobbyists to activists caused harm.

Ai is undoing it all. Not piece by piece but all at once.

I, for one, can't wait to see folks zapped for restraining voluntary behavior.

Comment The old model is nearly dead.... (Score 0) 64

In the future, people will use AI to generate their own TV series. Most will suck, but some will be amazing. I don't think long form content has much of a future though. No one wants to sit through some three hour woke fest watching the annoying teenager or the fake love interest in every movie. That whole format is dead. Most of these 3 hour movies could have been 2 TikToks. User generated content will ultimately prevail over Hollywood and it already is. Most young people don't even watch TV any more.

I am a very lame producer, but I make really good money at it. It started as a hobby back in 2015.

I use Ai now with all our customers. We will NEVER hire anyone who has EVER used the word "SAG" in their resume or social media profile.

SAG => monopoly => control who can act => if you don't agree with SAG's politics, you can't act.

It's well past time to remove SAG from the market through market forces. Ai is absolutely AMAZING for my client base, they love being able to change the race, gender, location of a commercial with a few clicks.

I absolutely can't wait to send these SAG clowns packing.
