I've been seeing these articles cheering Germany's various renewable energy milestones for many years now. How about we take a look at their overall energy usage by source?

How does that work? They wouldn't become famous until the book is published, what value would having an early copy of the manuscript have then?
"Extruded" means its been formed by being pushed through a die. Like play dough noodles or regular noodles. This appears to be sheet metal welded on to a frame. Or rather it would be if someone buys it since the seller doesn't seem to have made one yet.
Off topic, but are people really bringing "malarky" back?
I'm not sure I'd pin this on democracy. Wouldn't dictatorships be more prone to idiosyncrasy since only one person has to be wrong and nobody can argue with them?
So if you buy a competitor to stop them from competing with you, that's illegal, but if you buy a competitor to get technology, staff and infrastructure allowed them compete with you, that's legal? Am I getting this right?
Wait, are you arguing that that the high cost of insulin the in the US is because we have more diabetic people? Like you think manufacturers can't keep up with the demand?
The sea has risen about 130 meters in the last 80,000 years.
First of all, "medicare for all" means single-payer health care. It doesn't literally mean we all would have what medicare is now. Secondly, I have Obamacare Bronze insurance and it ain't that great. It cost $400 a month and it has an $8,000 deductible. I had a melanoma removed and it cost me $5,000 out of pocket. The insurance paid for nothing and it still costs $4,800 a year. That's just a lousy deal, it doesn't come close to the insanity some people have to deal with. Why does insulin cost $300 per dose when it was $30 in 1999? Why are there out of patent drugs that cost $10,000 per month? Why are people with serious injuries refusing to ride in an ambulance because they can't afford it?
That is literally the tip of the insane iceberg on how people are being squeezed for every last cent just to literally stay alive, and a lot of us are absolutely ready to vote for "Fidel Sanders" or anyone else who actually seems to give a damn about fixing this nightmare.
Some people here seem think eliminating social security taxes would mean you get to keep that extra money. Consider instead that most employers will just cut pay. Many people wouldn't even notice since the $ amount stays the same on their paychecks.
Why do you think the emphasis was on how much money the software industry could save? It won't be any different when they "privatize" Social Security for Americans.
It would be more accurate to say the labor can go to where it is needed more cheaply. Those workers could always have been hired away by offering them more money. When they're out of work they can be hired for the same amount or less. When a lot of people are out of work you can hire them for a lot less. The end result is a transfer of power and wealth from the employed to the employers. The consolation prize is that because automation and outsourcing make things cheaper, the workers can still live on their reduced incomes.
My real point is that the marvelous efficiency of capitalism does not always mean it is effective at creating the best situation for the actual human beings involved.
