While I agree that some game oriented products are just for show, most of them are just the "expensive" versions that no "regular" consumer is going to splurge on. Heck I remember playing Quake with my Microsoft Intellimouse "with scrollwheel", compare that to the MX500 I use here at work. But wait! An MX500 is a gaming mouse! Guess what I use it for............ Photoshop
Yep, I use my MX500 at work and my MX510 at home for Desktop Publishing more than gaming. Try using a crappy dell mouse all day for photoshop, yah, you'll be begging for an MX5XX style mouse within a week. And I don't have a console for one big reason, it doesn't use a MOUSE.
Honestly though, I suck at console games because I'm not very good with the controllers, I'm just soo used to mouse control. So be happy with your console, just don't expect me to give up my mouse (especially my Logitech) for a stinky gamepad.
