I bought a pack of 3 field notes, and I'm half way through my second book. They're pretty well designed and have an interesting aesthetic about them. Good for those who like the retro feel about them. Their choice of size is good, too. They are not cheap, mind, so I'm reluctant to buy any more. I bought a really cheap bookbinding kit off of ebay, so I can make my own little notebooks for nearly zero cost. They're not all that time-consuming to make, either. There's something satisfying about making your own stuff.

Kiyosaki is a BS artist. An asset is an asset, even if it is a depreciating asset. You'd be hard-pressed to find an asset that doesn't depreciate nor require maintenance costs. I sincerely doubt any bank is stupid enough to give him $1b, either. Stuff like LTV (loan to value) and sources of income are important to them. Everything he says is through some distorted lens.

[True] Story time that my dad tells ... Years ago, my dad worked in the printing trade. The big boss was more than a bit of an arsehole. He owned the business, so suck it up, buttercup. It was a business his own dad started. Years roll by, and the boss appoints some managers to help grow the business. As part of the deal the managers were given equity. After awhile those managers voted the boss out of the company. Imagine that! And the moral is, just like you said: THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS INDISPENSABLE.
