so i get an email from solemn late this afternoon asking me if i could stop on my way to the train station, and pick up some benadryl, because of another reaction.

well, oh grand. no lettuce within site... "now what?" i think to myself... she's dealing with enough... don't need this.

anyway, i leave work a little past 4pm, walk up milk street to washington and notice a cvs, yay! i pop in... find benadryl. the line is long, and only one check-outter type person. ugh.

i finally pay for the drugs, dash across the block... down the stairs into the station, walk down the hallway to the orange line outbound... and notice the dragon looking for me. i wave, smile and walk over to her... oh, the poor dear... face is a bit swollen and skin is itchy. i get a dose of the benadryl out, she takes it and we get on the train.

we get to our town... off the that cvs, pick up perscription (for unrelated med) and pick up some topical anti-hestamine... walk home, apply medicine and get dragon comfortable.

she's sleeping now and assured me that right now, this is just a "cosmetic annoyance." i asked about her air passages and was reassured that all is well... in fact, aside from this allergy thing, she's quite alright for now.

so, she's doing okay... just thought you should know. she's got an appointment to see a doctor about this in a couple weeks. yay! more doctoring!

*yawn*

            Man, you gotta lighten up a little bit. When has this group (or at least me) taken anything seriously? A few things here and there, okay. But something like this? Nope. IIRC, I even thought out loud months ago (after first seeing you two together IRL) that you would be ideal for each other. And not in an AC "you need to go fuck each other" way.

              friday was *very* stressful. getting up at 6am and having the woman you love having such a dramatic and bad reaction to some unknown agent and the only thing you can do is drive her to the ER is NOT an ideal time to use me as some way to entertain.

              any other time, fine. i'm up for it. fuck... if my history here is any indication, i'm the first and loudest to laugh at my own shit.

                Also, look at it this way: both of you were, AFAIK, posting from home. IME, that's usually a good sign.

    It's good that Sol is ok. I was somewhat worried with her earlier JE about the new allergy. You two have my cell number, if you ever need help with anything that's going on, just give me a call.
  • there's few on this earth that have more experiences with allergies than me. Some tips:

    1. I'm 310 pounds. SD is like 75 pounds (give or take a few pounds). I have to take 5-10 benedryl to stop my reactions. Depending on her severity, she should need 1 to 4. The trick is to by the capsules and NOT the caplets. When she needs to take them, take a book or a mallet and SMASH them to break them open. Drink the powder inside with a LARGE glass of water, juice, milk (whatever is SD-safe). The powder will a

    • Wow. That's a lot of benadryl. My allergies are many, but they have gotten better as I've aged. I weigh 120, and the last time I took a benadryl I fell asleep and didn't fully wake up for 7 hours.

      I never have figured out if the stuff actually works for my allergies because I am always sleeping while it has its effect. And since I don't usually sneeze in my sleep anyhow, who knows? :-)

    SO, what is this nice rice breakfast bar ? the only rice bars I found were more fun snack food than breakfast. Not saying that I did not eat them all hours of the day and night, :)
