The supply and demand argument doesn't fly. Lawyers create their own demand through meritless lawsuits, class-action suits where there's nothing left for the "class" after the lawyers have taken their contingency fees, and a legal system where the procedures are purposefully kept so arcane and convoluted that the average person is lost in any court higher than small claims.
