Yeah, and if you listen carefully you'll hear the same comments about the new "net style" - informal, sprawling, terse, inventive etc. Excuse me? Hasn't anyone ever read beat poetry or Jack Kerouak? There's a straight line you can draw from the modern to the "net style".
Problem is, most writers think coders mostly write original code, and most coders think writers invent their style and format from the ground up. But they both depend on legacy documents.
