Comment India and Reality (Score 1) 23

OK, here is the reality.... The India Government is making it hard to do many types of business there. Their cyber laws, data laws etc are pushing for profit corporations out and even many major international nonprofits have pulled out if India. These are not always laws that are not necessarily there to protect the privacy of it's citizens.

A few years ago someone pointed out to me that that so many people in their teens and even 20's don't understand some basic computer concepts even many no technical people understand. This person attributed the issue to so many people that "live" off their iPhone or iPad and that is all they know. If the application is not simplified to an iPhone or iPad they have trouble navigating it. This person was a referencing corporations and having to train staff and now almost going backwards compared to where we had gotten 15 years ago.

Comment FDA Advisory Pannel (Score 1) 156

For those pushing this for younger kids did any of you watch the FDA Advisory Panel meeting last week on booster shots? Part of the reason the panel did not recommend boosters for all is due to Myocarditis and other concerns. Many doctors were very concern that they were so caught off guard with the level of risk in healthy teens. I wold encourage people to go back and listen. Why jump to giving younger kids a vaccine with what came out at the FDA?

And yes i did get my shots.

Did those that support the vaccine for younger kid listing to the FDA Advisory Panel on booster shots? It sounds like everyone was caught off guard by the level of risk in healthy teens for things like Myocarditis and other issues. Some complained the safety studies were not robust enough. One doctor showed some other risk calculators.... Much of what the FDA Advisory Panel questioned was not just the "need" but a level of safety for younger people that have been approved.. If they are that surprised by some of the issues in teens.... how does that risk play out in the younger age group. .... and yes I did get the vaccine and have encouraged others, but their levels of concern among many was very interesting.

Comment Many Crafters Will Pay - Some Already Frustrated (Score 1) 174

My wife is a big scrapbook person and crafter. She has the old Cricut (first large model). No internet connectivity at all. You buy cartridge for it and she was happy. She does not want a newer Cricut or Silhouette paper cutter. There are many in the crafting world that love the new stuff but now for many it is also making things more complicated.

For those that don't know these machines not only cut paper, but vinyl, cloth etc. People use these machines to make designs to on t-shirts and all sorts of stuff then they often sell that stuff.

Comment I Thought Firefox was Open NOT Just Open Source (Score 3, Interesting) 315

I keep hearing about things Mozilla is doing that is upsetting much of is key Firefox User base (I was an early early adopter and back then a friend of the "tree"). At one point Mozilla was an open company that listened and talked to its key users. Now they can say they are open source all they want, but that does not mean they are open to other ideas. Not even sure they are even open to the ides that made them popular.

As a long time Firefox user I want key Mozilla staff to come out and truly explain their logic and clearly answer some of the very logical and specific concerns that have been brought up. Mozilla staff (not marking) need to step up and listen and reconsider some steps. I know the search bard can be turned back on, but all in all just seems like will be getting a Chrome by Mozilla instead of Firefox by Knowledgeable Users.

Some people won't ever go out of their way to use different web browser. They will use Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari, or whatever was on the desktop at the beginning. So the fight is really to get the people that actually make choices and have some knowledge about choices.
