I'd say you haven't been to Morocco either. They are quite a liberal and progressive country, women regularly go without hair coverings, and don't need to be escorted by a male relation at all. In fact the majority of 'Muslim majority countries', i.e. Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Lebanon, Jordan... etc are similar. The main current exeption is Iran.. which I'd argue is more due to their totalitarian regime trying to oppress women, than for any strictly religious reasons.

Comment How will this work for labels? (Score 1) 214

So large bins for recyclables often have a label affixed to them with the recyclable three arrow symbol. These labels are often NOT recyclable.. so will they no longer be allowed to have the three arrow symbol on them? Ditto for the plastic wrap labelling affixed to things like coca-cola bottles (both plastic and glass). These labels are almost never recyclable, so they wouldn't be allowed to have the symbol... If there's a loophole in the legislation for such labels, then it seems almost certain that evil-doers would exploit this to advertise non-recyclable products as recyclable. Good legislative intent, but it seems very hard to write such legislation properly, and expensive to enforce.
