Re:weak spot is the server (Score 1)

I invite you to log in to the jdev conference room on jabber.org and hang out for a while. I am afraid that you didn't "get the full scoop." Although it is advantageous to have your own server, it isn't necessary. I have participated for months now w/o my own server. While logged into a public server, I have chatted with family and friends who are logged into AOL or MSN. My profile and "Buddy List" are safe and sound. Although it is posted that there are no guarantees, I haven't had a problem in all these months. What guarantees do MSN and AOL provide regarding their messaging? I haven't seen anything. If something went wrong what would they do?
