Journal bethanie's Journal: Filling "the Void" 31
And since there are so many, I'm just going to take this quote by quote:
"Women have a voice now -- 'This is what I want and this is how I want it,'"
You need me to say it again? Let me speak up!
"Women are fueling the growth"
Well, isn't that *usually* the case? Well, except for most of these guys.
Uh, I don't think so, Tim. I think maybe it has provided a convenient way for women to access things sexual in a way that they can avoid the social stigma of actually indulging their interests. But I contend that the interest has *always* been there. Society does its best to repress it -- after all, how can we be good mothers to our children AND be horny?! It's a conundrum!! -- but you can't fight Mama Nature. And sex *is* nature -- at its finest!!
More women in the business helps to generate more female demand.
Heh heh. That's one Tupperware party I want to invite my MOM to. Better yet, my MOTHER-IN-LAW!!
:-D
"There are new sexual repertoires, new rules and expectations, being created. It's not just about romance. It's about increasing sexual pleasure. "
Oh yeah, baby. Let's talk about this new sexual repertoire. Very good phrase. I know a few folks who could just use a refresher course on the *old* sexual repertoire (women included!!).
"Are they doing this to please the men or please themselves?" asked Tamara Kreinin, president of the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States, a nonprofit group that promotes comprehensive education about sexuality. "'Sex and the City' is indicative of a certain comfort, but for most women it's much less about sex and much more about the relationship."
Yeah. Leave it to another chick to question other women's justification in getting their rocks off. Let me clue you in: there are some women who like *sex*. They enjoy *porn*. They get off on these things, whether there's a man involved, or not. And when you get a man involved, yes, they can deal with the relationship on those terms. But when it comes time to get business done, they don't need a bunch of moonlight and romance. Proper stimulation applied in the correct amounts to the appropriate places (physical *and* mental) is pretty much all it takes.
embracing pornography is an unhealthy sign that women are trying to imitate men's attitudes toward sex rather than using their perspective to influence men's behavior.
Or maybe they might have something in common!!
Many new sexual entrepreneurs say they are filling a void
I'll say!! The "Big Mac Daddy Pleasure Wand" is my particular favorite for that specific purpose.
To sum up: Hey guys!! Women like sex!! And they're buying videos and toys and other paraphernalia to help get themselves off! I wouldn't be threatened if I were you -- I'd just make sure to take my vitamins!
