My Karma went down to "Terrible" today! I've had weeks of comments with positive karma scores... and now ONE negative comment, and my karma is "Terrible"?! What kind of system is this?

That is SO full of crap. Now it will probably take weeks to get back to 0. All because they're sending jobs overseas instead of boosting our floundering economy, and someone didn't like to hear me say it.

Taco, if you ever happen to see this, rethink that system, dude. I got screwed up the goatse cavity for a single bad day with the moderators.

OK, this sucks. This program has to pull data in so many strange ways that I'm having to re-work the database design to accommodate. This includes rewriting all the auto-import stuff, as it will no longer be valid. In essence, I set myself back probably another week.

I wish I could have some more fun projects like the last ones I worked on. The Scrap Entry System and the Scheduler Program were really fun projects overall.

Got a couple of lucky breaks... my contacts were less expensive than I thought. That's kinda nice. Turns out her car will be about $100 less to fix, too.

I found the last of the problems in the scheduling application yesterday, and finished fixing it today. My program now runs concurrently on n machines!

I'm starting to work on a separate application now... one to run the daily scrap report for the plant. It's ugly. I don't like it very much.

Plans for this weekend:
1. Not much tonight... lay back and relax a bit. Maybe I'll work on the computer game I'm writing
2. Got reservations for an Italian restaurant tomorrow night
3. Probably watch a movie @ her place afterward
4. Stupid senior project at school... gotta meet with the programming team Sunday night.

I'm getting a lot done, but I feel like crap. That, and the two chain-smokers in the cubicle farm, and the Whistler, AND MotorMouth, have made today a pretty un-fun day.

Gotta get Angel's car fixed this week... $400. Also, gotta get new contacts. Another $200 probably. Yeah, that sucks pretty bad. I wish I were already starting my new job, so I'd be making enough to have some fun now and then.

I just noticed that (now) 4 of my 5 entries were on a Tuesday. Kinda weird how that works out.

Today I'm working on the touchscreen application for the scrap station. All I have left to do is the database connection that writes the scrap out to the table. Then I'll have to invent some new project to work on until May. Turns out I got my pre-offer offer. Pending the results of my psych evaluation (to be performed in April), I'll be makin' $35k right out of school! Life am good.

Well, back to the grind...

And boy, is that a good thing! I have been SO cranky this morning... I'm acting like it's Monday! My program works great... the HotSpot issue was solved after some help from Tek-Tips. I'm just in a foul, foul mood. Not even Dilbert could cheer me up this morning. Wish I could take the day off and cool my temper a bit.

I get to babysit tonight... while my sweetie's in class, I'm keeping her niece. Guess we'll have a pizza and watch a kiddie movie (she's 4).

I think I need to do something violent... perhaps an hour or 2 of Neverwinter Nights or Delta Force: Land Warrior tonight to blow off some steam.

I've been fighting with my program this morning. Stupid HotSpot objects! When I click on the center piece (a label) it fires the label's click event instead of the control's click! Stupid, stupid HotSpots.

Oh, and I don't wanna go back to school today! We were out yesterday because of the ice storm that hit the Carolinas. Now I don't want to go back. Stupid university anyway... can't believe I'm paying that much to hear Math profs try to teach CS courses... the morons don't know what they're talking about. Just gotta get my little piece of paper, I guess...

I'm waiting for TPTB to interview me for a permanent position. Should be the end of this week/beginning of next.

I spent the whole morning programming while standing up... working on a machine out in the maintenance department, and it's not sitting on a desk... the only interface is in a standing position. Sure beats spending all morning sitting in class, though... I'm so glad I'll be out in May!

Hi to all you poor saps who have nothing better to do than read my journal! This morning has been SO slow. I'm working on a reporting application in VB.NET that dumps data to Excel for charts and stuff. I just finished the line chart option. I leave work at noon EST in order to go to class... even more "fun"! Statistics & Child Psychology today... what a thrill.
