The goal is to kill third party applications to look more appealing to investors when they IPO. No third party applications translates in an investor's mind to "all ip is under the company's control." Now. That's wrong. But they're the people writing the checks, and reddit's owners want big checks, and that's one way do it.

I love it when people say shit like this. It means that in six to twelve months, I'm going to be charging double my rate to fix the project those devs broke. You're gonna bring in devs with no experience or cultural connection to the management? How terrible, don't throw me in that briar patch, and let me update my pitch pipeline with your boss' contact info.
