I just received my ballot in the mail and they had the American Communist Party, among others (about 8 parties in total) mentioned in the ballot, so you'd think that Slashdot would at least put it on a poll.

What happened to the Ross Perot days where a third party could be invited to the debates?

People these days don't know about the other choices out there aside from Republican/Democrat/Green/Libertarian, and they only know about Green/Libertarian because Ralph Nader "ruined" the 2000 election and Ron Paul has been bashed by the Repubs for being a dirty Libertarian...

I wish the US had a system similar to Germany's where 3rd parties can get seats without having to win a whole state or even district.
