My suggestion: Next step should be to make murder a crime. That will reduce the numbers of murders in that state to Zero, right?

And then go on with theft.

And rape.

As long as "artificial intelligence" CANNOT reach the "quality" of natural stupidity, I am rather afraid of humans than of machines.

Comment They should learn to code: From Bytes to Eliza (Score -1) 170

The title says it all. But why? Because kids (and everybody else) should learn to understand how computers work basically and how software is written. From very simple basic functions up to (at least) a simple programming language so they can understand or even rewrite themselves Weizenbaum's famous program "Eliza". This will help them to understand that building (not even always) correct sentences base on millions of existing sentences has NOTHING to do with artificial "intelligence". What they sell today as "intelligence" is the same kind of "intelligence" a billard ball shows when falling into a corner hole after missing it hundreds or thousands of times.

Kids, then, would understand much better what computers do, how they do it and that there is no such thing as "intelligence" in their actions. And they would learn not to trust marketing guys claiming otherwise ;-)

Since Blackrock managed to acquire the largest German heat-pump producer, these investments have to bring some profits by pushing the American market, right? Those who celebrate that action in Russia, therefore, would also like to display "Heil Hitler!" in Brooklyn? Or "Sieg Heil!" over Yad Vashem?

But, then, who is ProPublica? Oh, a news organization funded by ... funds. And these funds are funded by ... other capitalists.
So, one group of capitalists is smearing another one that they would make "dirty" profits by supporting news that capitalists don't like to see published because ... because they're fake news? Thank god there are still capitalists whon insist on telling the truth. Always. Ever. Everywhere.

The pair did research at German universities for over 20 years, totally funded by taxpayers. Then they found it was time to start their own company. (Btw: The address of their company BioNTech is literally "at the goldmine" in the city of Mainz. And: how many companies would allow two of their research engineers to start their own company with the intellectual property developed at the company's labs?) The original aim was to develop mRNA technology to a commercially usable level. The German state supported this "startup" with 750 m Euros, even though there was NO successful implementation of that technology, sometimes claimed to be the holy grail for Big Pharma, in almost 30 years. In 2020 they decided to try something else than gene therapy against cancer: to apply it against the new SARS Corona virus. (Bill Gates had a good nose and invested a few millions in the company in late 2019, before this virus was known or the company had any product. One year later the worth of his stocks had risen by 2000% â" and he called it the best investion of his life.) With a few hundred millions of taxpayers money more (over 300) the development of the new vaccine was successful, but the small company did not have a production facility. Joins Pfizer. The offer to build one, but only with "support" (must be a poor company?) of another 1000 million of taxpayer money for the new plant. During 2021 the pair both became 5/6 times billionaires, but refused to give the patent of the vaccine free to the same public who paid their original mRNA research (for cancer therapy), the creation of their company, the new research (for Corona therapy). It's good to hear that they now turn back to their original goal. I'm sure, German taxpayers will happy to support this research also. Without claiming any intellectual property rights or so, of course.
