You're not alone. There are a lot of us honest
folks around. The problem with the stolen software
is that most people don't realize that the people
writing the shareware are working and need the
income to earn a living. A large portion of the
thiefs are kids and Joe Moron who shouldn't even
be allowed anywhere near a computer.
Those people usually have no clue about software.
I tried writing shareware a few years ago. I got
tons of downloads and tons of thank you notes but
not much else. Some people do make money, that
50-50 number given in the article is great, I
don't understand the complaint as I thought it
was more a 90-10 ratio of stolen-bought shareware.
I might have to rethink my view on the subject
and get back into the business.
